Review of the Gucci Dionysus

Gucci Dionysus

Hey everyone.

Today I’m going to do a review of the Gucci Dionysus bag. I have this bag now about a year and it’s got a good bit of use.

I purchased the bag in the Gucci store in Brown Thomas in Dublin. I bought the small as it was the perfect size for both day and night use. The small costs €1,690. I bought the beige/ebony canvas with the taupe suede.

So what do I think of this bag?

I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect size. There are two quite large pockets on the inside with a zipped pocket separating them. The bag can comfortably fit my phone, purse, kindle and the large quantity of lipsticks that I always seem to have in my bags along with all the other random bits and bobs that end up in my bags.

The clasp is very sturdy so I never have to worry about it popping open and all my stuff falling out. It’s easy to open and close and not one bit fiddly.

The canvas material is so hard wearing. My poor bags get a bit of a battering at times as I’m not the most careful person when it comes to my bags and this bag is no exception. The canvas still looks as perfect as the day I bought it. Unfortunately the suede part on the front does look a little bit worn. It has darkened slightly since I bought the bag. One downside of having this bag in Ireland is that it rains a lot. And suede and rain do not mix well. This is the main reason why my suede has worn. It’s gotten wet numerous times. However this does not bother me too much as i think it shows that my bag is used and loved.

The only downside of this bag is the chain strap. The Dionysus is a quite a heavy bag due to the materials it’s made from and it becomes even heavier once filled. The chain strap tends to dig into my shoulder and arm after a while which can be a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately the small version of this bag can not be worn crossbody.

So overall I absolutely love this bag. I’ve used it so many times over the last year and I will continue to use it. I would definitely recommend investing in this bag If you are looking for a good hardwearing bag that is large enough to fit quite a lot of stuff and can be used both day and night.

So that’s my review of the Gucci Dionysus. Thanks for reading and chat soon.

My Top 5 Winter Coat Styles

Hello Everyone,

Hope your all having a fantastic week.

Today I’m going to talk about my top 5 winter coats. It’s definitely the time of year where a good coat is needed and the perfect time to purchase one as there are some great ones on sale at the moment.

Zara and H&M are my go to stores for all my coats. They have excellent quality at an affordable price. There are some great deals on at the moment on more high end brands, especially in Brown Thomas – who doesn’t love a beautiful Ted Baker coat for half price. I definitely won’t say no to that.

Number 1 – Camel Coat

My first coat and I think one of my favorites is a camel coat. I adore a good camel coat. It looks so sophisticated and can really dress up any outfit. I purchased mine from Zara about 5 years ago and it’s still one of my most used coats.

Zara is a great shop for a good camel coat. They do the classic styles which will last forever. They have some fab styles in at the moment. I’ve added a few below which are all on sale at the moment 😀.

I purchased mine in Zara.

Number 2 – Teddy Coat

I definitely think the Teddy coat has been the coat of the season this year. Oversized and incredibly cosy – what more could you want in a coat?? I love nothing more than being nice and cosy in mine while going for a shopping trip to town on a cold day.

Again these coats are so versatile – they can be worn with jeans and runners or with a nice dress and heels.

I purchased mine in Penny’s (Primark). They have some great ones at a really affordable price. For a style of coat that may only be around for one season I suggest not spending a huge amount on it. There are some great options out there at the moment at really affordable prices.

Number 3 – Wool Coat

You can’t go wrong with a good quality wool coat. They are an investment piece but they will last forever. Hands down I think Ted Baker do the beat wool coats. I’ve picked up a few over the years and the beat thing is they always go on sale around Christmas time and usually around 50% off.

A wool coat, long or short, instantly dresses up any outfit. There such a classic coat, they look stylish on anyone and can give a plain outfit a sophisticated edge.

I bought this grey Ted Baker one in the Brown Thomas winter sale.
They also had the same coat in a beautiful pale pink colour.

Number 4 – leather Jacket

Ok so technically a leather jacket probably isn’t the best choice for winter as there not that warm but I think a good leather jacket should be a wardrobe staple both in summer and winter. It just goes with everything. You can throw it on over jeans and a T-shirt or a nice day dress or dress it up over a nice fancy outfit for nighttime.

The leather jacket has so many uses and can be worn with literally any outfit. Again I think Zara do a great selection of leather jackets at really affordable prices. I’ve gotten a few there and there all still perfect and I wear them so much.

Number 5 – A Softshell Jacket

Ok this is a random choice of jacket to be in my top 5 but let’s face it this is Ireland. Our winters can be pretty wet, cold and downright miserable. I don’t particularly feel like getting my nice wool coat, my cosy teddy coat or stylish camel coat ruined by an absolute downpower. The solution – a soft shell jacket preferably with a hood.

This is a great jacket to just throw on on those days that it’s absolutely lashing. I usually throw on mine if I’m running around doing jobs. It’s not too heavy and keeps me warm and dry when the weather decides to take a turn for the worse.

I think regatta do the best ones. They have great sales especially the one that’s on at the moment with some great reductions on these jackets.

Review of the Hot Tools curl bar

Hot Tools 32mm Curl Bar

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year.

I hope everyone is settling back into their normal routine nicely. I went back to work Monday. It’s nice to be back in routine again.

Today I’m going to do a quick review of the Hot Tools Curl Bar. I picked this up in the Black Friday sales before Christmas and I’ve been using it quite a lot since. My verdict: amazing.

My hair is medium length – it ends just below my shoulders. I have quite fine and naturally straight hair – aka a nightmare to hold a curl. I’ve tried numerous curlers over the years and they just won’t work 😩. I spend ages doing odd move with my arms to try curl my hair perfectly for all the curls to just fall out within minutes or I’d end up looking like curly sue with tight curls that wouldn’t drop or brush out because I had left the curler in my hair too long.

I was a bit skeptical as to whether the curl bar would work or not but I was pleasantly surprised. It curled my hair beautifully. The temperature can be adjusted from 160 degrees right up to 230 degrees so there’s plenty options for all hair types. I set it to 180 to get a good curl.

Now for the best part. My biggest mistake with most curlers is that I leave them in my hair too long and I end up burning my hair. The curl bar has a timer built in. The tool vibrates in your hand when ten seconds are up and now I always know when the perfect time is to take the curl out. This has been a game changer for me.

Another difficulty I had with most curlers is trying to position the curler at the right angle to get a good curl. Halfway through my hair my arms would be getting tired from being in odd positions. The curl bar is shaped like a 7 with the handle facing down. Omg this has made curling my hair so easy. I never get sore arms anymore.

The curl bar is priced at €125 and is available at http://www.hottools.ie. It is well worth purchasing if like me you want to achieve quick and easy long lasting curls.

To sum up, I adore the curl bar. It allows me to get the big bouncy curls I want at home, without ending up burning my hair or loosing feeling in my arms from doing crazy positions.

Thanks for reading 😀.
